I've seen these finger puppets doing the rounds and I thought I'd add them to SSH as I think they are brilliant. The cute characters really made me smile (and giggle).

They have been created by craft designer Tamara Maynes.

Me (Laura) & Mr P spent Good Friday exploring Hardcastle Crags near Hebden Bridge. Its part of the National Trust and you can spend a few of hours walking along the various routes or stop for a cuppa & explore Gibson Mill, a unique sustainable building. There was an Easter themed hunt for the kids to take part in and the different terains makes it accessible for all. And after a few hours outdoors we treated ourselves to some Easter treats, mmmm.

Fantastic Mr Fox

I've been spending Sunday afternoon watching the delightful Fantastic Mr Fox with the voice of the lovely Mr Clooney. Its a great film for a bit of light hearted fun in front of the TV with a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup to battle a weekend cold, and the style of the animation is great, the characters really come to life & its quite funny too - there must be something about talking animals.

Be My Valentine...

Well... it's that time of the year again, February 14th the most romantic day of the year so I thought I'd share a few romantic moments of mine. A breathtaking photograph taken on a romantic weekend break, and an illustration to remember the weekend. A beautiful bouquet of flowers given to me this valentines day and a cheeky digital love letter sent as a surprise.

Avoid the Walk of Shame with Harvey Nichols

I saw this advert for Harvey Nichols womenswear today and had fits of giggles. If you've every been a student or lived with a bunch of girls you will share both amusment & sympathy for all the ladies festive walk of shame - especially after going to Uni in Newcastle (upon Tyne) where coats are not optional. If you can do it can do it in style then its not as bad. Wrap up single ladies! 

Hi There...

This is little printer

I came across this little gem while looking for inspiration.  You use your smartphone to print off the days headlines, friends birthdays, meetings, word puzzles basically a mini newspaper just for you to read! Designed by berg, a design consultancy, they focus on design for connected products to produce something that is inventive and unique.

Not only is it so pleasant on the eye, the little bit of technology behind it left me a little bit giddy.  I would love, love, love one of these adorable printers but they're not available until next year! oh well...

Its that time of year when a holiday is in need, or at least the planning of one (before Christmas engulfs us). The Bella Illusione blog is a great place to gather some inspiration for destinations far and wide. Instagram is a great app on the iphone (I steal my boyfriends). Simply take your photo or upload from your camera roll, add filters or leave it in it's original state and share on the news feed page. The filters add an old school quality to digital images instantly. You can keep the image private or share with the growing app community. Only downside is that you can't view your gallery on-line - its only via the app.

Have you discovered the joy of Pinterest yet? Its AMAZING!!!! Its a virtual based pin board where you can pin images from across the web to 1 place and it links back to the original link, so its great when you want to remember something. You can search the every growing site for inspiration or pin your own stuff up.

Cutting Crazy

I find artists like Rob Ryan such an inspiration, the way that they find a niche idea and turn it into something iconic is something to admire. The skill, creativity and perseverance involved has made me want to try it for myself!  I went for a quirky simple design and applied the cut out look, hope you like it.

  

All Things Vintage

With having an unhealthy obsession with everything vintage I came across a great tutorial online in turning any photograph vintage! It really gives a nostalgic feel and love the colours you can achieve. Click here to have a look.
