I recently saw an exhibition by Mark Hearld at the YSP. The work on show was a mixture of collage, prints, pen and ink and 3D pieces. I really like his illustrative style and depictions of animals in their habitat, the hare's a lovely.

This is one sexy office! It's the home of communication agency Ubiquitous, based in Manchester. I think the interior looks like a mixture of a gentleman's club / posh hotel / European architecture studio. I'd be more than happy to work in a place like that.

I love these beautiful trend boards from the Ellinee blog. I like the different composition which show off the different looks, they look really clear & crisp. The metallics is my favourite.

I stumbled across a beautiful food photography set up called Food and Cook, by Spanish blogger Totramundo. I think the shots look amazing and they really capture the freshness of the dishes. I'd love to learn how to make some of these recipe but I can't read Spanish.

I do like a good cookery show & my lovely family have showered me with cook books over Christmas. I've made sure I'll put them to good use and have cooked at least 6 recipes over the last 3 weeks, I don't think these will be gathering dust. 

Both images are from Jamie Oliver 15 minute meal. The middle image is a Laksa Curry & the bottom is a Kofta Curry. Both recipes are delicious, not quite mastered the 15 minutes yet, but practise makes perfect

I had a house full at Christmas so I decided to make some name cards to break the ice between the in-laws. I got some inspiration from the Paper + Craft book and injected some patterned paper from Muji. I had some ribbon & small pegs in my box of tricks which turned the birds into decorations. The finishing touch (which is my favorite) is a pair of eyes & some rosy cheeks.

It's been a while since I've posted anything on here, so I thought I'd start the year with a Christmas gift that I crafted for my boyfriend. I bought the letter tags from East of India via a lovely shop in Skipton and mounted them in a simple frame. It's a nice reminder.

I can't remember how I came about The Neighbourhood Studio but I'm glad I did. There graphic style is beautiful, a brilliant blend of type, colour & compositions create some great prints, logos, branding & product packaging.

John Lewis Christmas Ad

I love the John Lewis advert this Christmas, it makes me smile everytime I watch it. Especially like the bit when he's hidding from the snowball fight. Worth a watch.

Utility at Christmas

I received this lovely message from design store Utility today. I do like a good santa and this retro styled one made me smile, nice illustration! Check out their stores in Liverpool & London (near Kings Cross) or online here.

Breakfast at Bills

 

I visited Cambridge at the weekend and discovered a great cafe/restaurant/shop called Bills. As we wondered the streets we were keeping our eyes peeled for something tasty. We spotted a sign then followed the trail and ended up at Bills. We new it was a good sign when we saw the queue. Once seated we enjoyed some yummy food and a river of tea. The atmosphere, styling & service was brilliant. Worth a visit if you are in the area, click here for more info.

I can't wait for the new James Bond movie to come out! I do love a bit of Daniel Craig & the theme song by Adele is amazing too.

Two of my favourite things - chocolate & Illustration. I spotted the lovely ad campaign on sky tonight for Kinder chocolate and upon googling it I found that the wonderful Oliver Jeffers is responsible for the beautiful illustration, good work!
